How to Use B-7000 Glue on a Phone Screen: Where It Works, How to Apply It and How Long It Takes to Cure

B-7000 is a clear, semi-fluid, multi-purpose adhesive that sits on almost every phone repair bench. It is cheap, it is handy when a frame or bezel has no usable adhesive left, and it is easy to get wrong: too much glue squeezes out onto the display, too little lets the screen lift. This guide covers what B-7000 is good for, how to apply it to a phone screen or frame, how long it takes to cure, and when double-sided tape is the better choice.

Time needed: 10 to 15 minutes to apply, then 24 to 48 hours to fully cure
Difficulty: Easy, but neatness matters

What is B-7000 glue?

B-7000 is a transparent, semi-fluid adhesive that stays flexible once it has cured, which is why it is popular for phones and tablets: it holds glass, metal and plastic without turning brittle. Our 50 ml tube has a fine precision tip for small, controlled drops. From the product listing: surface dry in about 6 minutes, full cure in 24 to 48 hours, cured hardness 70 to 85A, and storage between 10 and 28 degrees Celsius.

Where it works, and where it does not

Job Use B-7000? Notes
Fitting a screen into a frame that has lost its adhesive Yes Thin, even bead around the frame edge
Refitting a loose bezel or plastic trim Yes Small drops are enough
Back glass or a camera ring that has lifted Sometimes Use sparingly. Pre-cut adhesive gives a flatter, more even fit
Fitting a battery No Use the adhesive strips supplied with the battery, so it can be released next time
Flex cables, connectors, sensors and speaker mesh No Keep glue well away from all of these
Restoring factory water resistance No Glue is not a tested seal, so never promise a customer water resistance

Tools you will need

  • B-7000 glue with the precision tip fitted
  • High-percentage isopropyl alcohol and lint-free swabs
  • Plastic spudger or pick for old adhesive
  • Masking tape or small clamps to hold the screen while it cures
  • Gloves and a well-ventilated bench

How to apply it, step by step

  1. Power off and disconnect the battery before you touch the screen or frame.
  2. Remove the old adhesive. Lift residue from the frame with a plastic pick, then wipe the frame with isopropyl alcohol and let it dry completely. Glue will not hold on dust, oil or old adhesive.
  3. Test fit the new screen first. Connect it, check display, touch and sensors, then disconnect again. Do this before any glue goes on.
  4. Apply a thin bead along the frame edge, keeping it away from the inner edge, the earpiece mesh, sensors, cameras and flex cables. A thin line spreads further than you expect when the screen is pressed down.
  5. Fit the screen and press gently around the edges so it sits level. Do not press hard in the middle of an OLED panel.
  6. Wipe squeeze-out straight away with a clean swab, lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol. Once the glue has cured it will not wipe off cleanly.
  7. Hold it in place. Use masking tape across the screen or small clamps. The surface dries in about 6 minutes, but leave it undisturbed for at least a few hours and let it reach a full cure over 24 to 48 hours.
  8. Check again after curing: edges level, no gaps, no glue on the glass, display and touch working.

Glue or tape?

Situation Better choice
The phone had a pre-cut adhesive gasket and you have a matching one Pre-cut adhesive
Narrow frame edge or a small gap to fill Double-sided tape (red film 5 mm, black 3 mm)
Aftermarket or reworked frame with no adhesive channel B-7000 glue
Job that must be easy to open again Tape, because cured glue is hard to remove cleanly

Common mistakes that cause comebacks

Problem Likely cause How to avoid it
Screen lifts at one corner Too little glue, or the frame was not cleaned Clean with isopropyl alcohol and add a continuous thin bead
Glue visible on the display edge Too much glue or no wipe-up Use a thinner bead and wipe squeeze-out immediately
Touch or sensor problems after the repair Glue reached a flex or sensor Keep glue off the inner edge and away from the sensors
Glue strings across the frame Tip lifted too fast Stop squeezing a moment before lifting the tip
Glue still soft the next day Thick layer, cold bench or old tube Apply thinly, work within 10 to 28 degrees Celsius and check the tube is fresh
Tube clogged Cap left off or tip not cleared Wipe the tip after use and cap it straight away

Safety and storage

  • Work in a ventilated area, avoid skin and eye contact, and keep the tube away from children.
  • If glue gets on skin, wipe it off at once and wash with soap and water. Do not pull cured glue off skin.
  • Store the tube capped, upright and between 10 and 28 degrees Celsius.

What to tell the customer

  • Avoid pressing on the edges of the screen for 24 to 48 hours.
  • Keep the phone away from heat during that time, for example a hot car dashboard.
  • Do not promise water resistance after a glued repair.

FAQ

How long does B-7000 take to dry?
The surface is dry in about 6 minutes. Full cure takes 24 to 48 hours.

Is B-7000 clear?
Yes, it is transparent, which hides small amounts of squeeze-out but still shows on glass, so wipe it up while wet.

Can I use it to fit a phone battery?
No. Use the adhesive strips supplied with the battery so it can be released safely next time.

Can cured B-7000 be removed?
Yes, but it takes effort. Warm the area gently and work a plastic pick or thin wire slowly. Do not pry hard on a screen.

Will it make my phone waterproof?
No. A glued repair is not guaranteed to keep the original water resistance.
