Samsung Galaxy S Charging Port Board: US vs International Model Codes (S21 to S25)

Most Samsung Galaxy S charging port orders that get returned to us are the same mistake: the phone is a US version (model code ends in U) and the board ordered was the international version (ends in B), or the other way round. The boards look almost identical, but the SIM reader, antenna contacts and connector layouts differ by region, so a board from the wrong variant will not fit or will not read the SIM. This guide shows how to read the code and which board to pick for each model from S21 to S25.

Step 1: find the full model code

On the phone go to Settings > About phone and read the Model number. It looks like SM-S911B. The letter at the end is the part that matters:

  • B – international version (Australia, Europe, most of Asia). This is what most Australian retail phones use.
  • U – US carrier version (and U1 for US unlocked). Common on phones imported from the US or bought on eBay.
  • E – a second international variant sold in some Asian and Middle East markets. Used on some S21 FE and S22 Ultra models.
  • R – a regional variant seen on some S23 Ultra units.

If the phone will not boot, the model code is also printed on the SIM tray slot label or on the original box.

Step 2: match the board to the code

Below is what we stock for each model. Pick the row that matches the full code on the phone, including the letter.

Galaxy S21 series

Galaxy S22 series

Galaxy S23 series

Galaxy S24 and S25 series

For S24 and S25 we currently stock the international (B) boards only. If you have a US version of one of these models, contact us before ordering.

Before you blame the port

A phone that charges slowly or only at certain cable angles usually does have a worn port, but check these first:

  • Clean the port with a wooden or plastic pick. Pocket lint packed at the back of the USB-C socket is the single most common cause of a loose cable.
  • Try a known good cable and charger. Many "charging port" jobs turn out to be a frayed cable.
  • If the phone also fails to read a SIM or has no microphone during calls, the sub-board is the likely fault, since the SIM reader and mic sit on the same board on these models. That makes the board swap a good fix for all three symptoms.

Fitting notes

  • On the S21 to S25 the charging port board sits under the back glass and a mid-plate. Remove the back glass with heat, undo the frame screws, then lift the board after disconnecting its flex cables.
  • Transfer the rubber gasket around the USB-C socket if the new board does not include one. Without it the port loses its water seal.
  • After fitting, test charging, SIM detection and a phone call before resealing the back glass.

Same-day pickup at Coopers Plains, Brisbane on weekday orders before 5pm (when in stock), or Australia-wide delivery. Please check your model code before ordering.
